Patterns made using PowerPoint

I started to mess around using PowerPoint waiting for feedback on jobs. David Byrne from Talking Heads makes fine art using PowerPoint which is how I came up with the name for my company. This is my version of that.

This technique is also really fun when it is animated. I always fancied making some VJ club graphics or a music video using this technique. I’ve made a silk banner for the composer Anna Meredith using some of these images which rather suits her strange, electronic music. I also love the idea of wrapping tour buses in these - see below. I used to sing and play saxophone in bands when I was a teenager and the thought of having my own tour bus was always quite a seductive idea for me.

The way I made these is pretty playful. I would screenshot glitches, add my crazy typeface to SmartArt graphics, add loads and loads of gradients, add kaleidoscopic images I had made elsewhere to 3D bar charts. It is very very fun to make!
